GLULAM BEAMS

Glulam is a precisely engineered structural timber component fabricated by bonding together planed stress graded timber boards to form a unit of great strength and dimensioned stability which can be used in most forms of construction, as a beam or structural framework.

BENEFITS

Strength to weight ratio: a structiural steel beam may be 20% heavier and a concrete beam 600% heavier than an equivalent glulam beam.
Easy fixing: Timber is well known to be easy ton erect and handle. Fixings to glulam are easier and less complicated than fixings to other structural materials.
Aesthetic appeal: the natural appearance of glulam is sufficiently attractive to make it eminently presentable with no cladding- indeed used as exposed beams glulam adds to the aesthetic appeal of a structure.
